About Selah
We're a team and network of photographers, filmmakers, and content creators travelling and serving throughout New Zealand. Our approach is documentary at heart, mixed in with some iconic fine-art editorial moments you'll frame on your wall forever.
We focus on the in-between moments. When he's carrying the dress. The emotion of your mum and dad before the ceremony begins. The giggles during the couple shoot. After years of photographing weddings, we know the details that often go overlooked, and we make sure to capture them for you to cherish.
On the day, we work calmly and respectfully, guiding when needed, and knowing when to step back and be a fly on the wall. We're here to serve you well and carry the responsibility of documenting the day so you can be fully present.

Rather pay it off over time? Secure your date with $750, then easy monthly payments right up to your wedding, so you can lock in the day now and pay as you go. The Whole Day works out around $600 a month across the year before your day :)

Every film booking includes a pre-wedding film plan, real Kodak stock professionally sourced, processed and scanned at a dedicated lab, a hand-cut edit set to your day, and private gallery delivery to keep. We only take a limited number of film dates each season.

Skip the usual 6 to 8 week wait. Your whole edited gallery fast-tracked to the front of the queue, so you can relive the day while it's still fresh.
We bring on a second team member for your specific service, so two photographers for the day, or two videographers for the day. Great for capturing multiple angles at the exact same time. Think the groom's reaction as well as you walking down the aisle, or both your reaction and Dad's during the first look.
We take a limited number of weddings each year, and peak dates from October to April are often reserved 12 to 18 months ahead. If yours is close, it's worth checking early.
Engagement sessions, wall art and anything else you have in mind, we'll walk through it all together on the call.

A simple contract and a deposit lock in your day. From there, it's ours to plan with you.
A 50% deposit with the balance before the day, pay in full, or spread it into monthly payments right up to the wedding. Payment plans add a 15% fee.

Good to know
Yes! $750 secures your date, then we split the rest into easy monthly payments over the months leading up to your wedding, wrapping up about a month before the day. A 15% fee applies for spreading it out, and we set up the automatic payments with you so it's completely hands-off. Just let us know and we'll build a plan that suits you.
Not at all, this is what we do all day! Most of our couples say the exact same thing. We shoot documentary-style, so you're not stuck posing for hours. We'll give you gentle direction when you want it and otherwise let the day unfold, and you'll be surprised how natural it feels, even if cameras make you nervous right now.
A few things, really! First, we care a lot about quality. Every photo and film is edited to the same high, timeless standard, in true-to-life colour that won't look dated in a few years. We also shoot real Super 8 and 35mm film, which most photographers don't offer, for a warmth and grain you just can't fake. And just as much, it comes down to how we treat you: we're relaxed, respectful and genuinely invested in your day going well, not just in getting the shot. You'll feel at ease the whole way through, even if cameras make you nervous. (And if you ever want photo, video and film together, that's all one team in one style, so nothing clashes.)
That's honestly the beauty of working with a team. Your coverage is provided by Selah, not one single person, so if your shooter can't make it (illness, injury, or an emergency), we'll always have another experienced Selah shooter ready to jump in at the same standard or higher. Every one of us works in the same style, and your editor stays the same no matter who shoots, so your photos and film always come back looking exactly like Selah. You're never left without coverage.
No stress, we're pretty relaxed about it and we'll never pack up in the middle of something special. If it's looking like your day needs a bit more time, extra coverage is easy to add on at $450 an hour, and we'll always check in with you first so there are never any surprises.
Your images are yours to keep with full printing rights, so you can absolutely print them anywhere. That said, we'd genuinely recommend keeping your albums and prints with us. You're not just paying for a printed product, but for the design and craft behind it. We use professional labs and hand-bound Queensberry albums a high-street printer simply can't match, we advise you on what will suit your space and your story, and we design the whole album for you, then check in and fine-tune it until it's exactly right. It's the difference between a stack of photos and an heirloom you'll pass down.
We shoot rain or shine, and honestly some of the most beautiful, emotional photos happen in the weather. We'll always have a plan B for portraits, and we'll never let a bit of rain stress you out on the day. You've got enough to think about!
